Company

Lusagro was founded in Évora in 2017 by a small group of structural and process engineers who wanted to bring the same rigour used on large industrial projects to farms, cooperatives and mid-sized producers across the Alentejo.

We plan, design and build agricultural and light-industrial facilities: grain and feed silos, livestock housing, drying and processing lines, and warehouse or workshop buildings for cooperatives and rural businesses. Every project is handled by the same small team from the first site visit through to handover, so nothing gets lost between departments that don't exist.

We stay deliberately small. It means the engineer who draws your foundation plan is the same person who checks it on site months later, and that decisions get made in days, not committee cycles. What we lack in scale, we make up for in attention: careful site surveys, realistic budgets, and materials chosen to last through Alentejo summers and winters alike.

How we work

Four stages, one team throughout. The engineer who visits your site is the one who signs off the build.

01

Site & brief

We walk the ground, survey soil and access, and turn your production needs into a technical brief.

02

Design

Structural, process and layout design, sized to your budget and to the Alentejo's climate and terrain.

03

Build

Construction and installation, supervised on site by the same engineer who drew the plans.

04

Handover & support

Commissioning, as-built documentation, and a direct line to the team for the years after.

Facilities we build

Photography representing the facility types we build — not images of a specific project.

What guides the work

Precision

Every foundation load and drainage fall is calculated for the site, not copied from a catalogue.

Reliability

The timeline and budget we quote are the ones we hold to — and we tell you early if that changes.

Sustainability

Passive ventilation, water harvesting and local materials, wherever the brief allows it.

Close collaboration

One point of contact, from the first sketch to the last inspection — no hand-offs in between.

Where we work

Most of our projects sit within an hour or two of Évora, which keeps our engineers on site often and travel costs off your invoice. For larger builds, we work further afield across mainland Portugal — and, on a handful of projects where the fit was right, as far as Spain and Poland.
